Lower Brule Indian Reservation |
The Lower Brule Sioux are descended from the bands of Tetons that moved into the Dakotas from the area just west of the Great Lakes. The 114,219 acre reservation is located in central South Dakota across the Missouri River from the Crow Creek Reservation. The Lower Brule Sioux Tribe operates under a charter ratified in 1936 and a constitution and bylaws approved in 1960. Since stamps from many years are unrecorded, catalog numbers are not left for those stamps. |
